“I would just like to say that I have been very impressed with the lighting in the autolink. Well done HE&D for the work and design”
We are pleased to announce the completion of the Autolink Orca project for J. N. Bently of Skipton, North Yorkshire. The project involved the design and installation of all of the electrical services, lighting, and power distribution infrastructure required to service an elevated 5m wide 5m high and 350m long tunnel fitted with two bi-directional conveyors.
The conveyor system links two buildings and facilitates the movement of pallets of product between two buildings — eliminating the need for laborious and time-consuming transport by truck, which was the previous method used.
The project spanned a 5-month period and involved over 4000 man hours of work with no incidents or accidents. During this time, we installed approximately 6 kilometres of single cables, 1 kilometre of fire rated cable, 1 kilometre of SWA cable, 800m of tray, and 400m of trunking, not to mention additional secondary conduits and primary support systems.
We received an e-mail from the end user after the pre-start up inspection and demonstration. The e-mail was transmitted to all of the site managers.
